Event Preview: Hopkins Creek Festival 2018

Chuck on your space suit and your tin foil hat, dial out to E.T., throw all earthly responsibilities in the bin and meet the fam in the crater at Hopkins Creek Festival for 2018. Your ticket will take you even further than the moon and back.

Hopkins Creek owns a vibe that is absolutely unlike any other festival on the circuit of Victoria, even as festivals gain higher quality and quantity relationships with some of the world’s very best acts, year after year.

If you love the music of Pitch Music & Arts, Animals Dancing and Strawberry Fields, but are an equal fan of the irreplaceable vibe of Meredith Music Festival, then take our word — you will thoroughly appreciate Hopkins Creek.

Set in an impressive volcanic crater in Victoria’s western districts, the festival manages to capture delicate local-level intimacy plus high-quality calibre of an international festival on both accounts.

Mixing some of Melbourne’s most highly regarded and quality local artists with the stand-out talent of some incredible international guests, Hopkins Creek Festival is an adventurous and unforgettable weekend worth every dime.

Paramida (Germany) will be bringing her bold and quality taste in music that has earned her a residency at Salon – Zur wilen Renate, and Ess O Ess (UK) will bring their experimental music that has built them a strong name on the dance floors of some of Europe’s biggest festivals. Ciel (Canada), a talented radio presenter, who has tracks on respected labels including Shanti Celeste’s Peach Disks will be making an appearance, along with Mitsuki (Japan) who will charm hearts with mind-bending tunes made out of Osaka.

Some of Melbourne’s finest exports and experts will be making a return from Europe, with Fantastic Man sure to be a highlight on the weekend, as well as special extended set by Dreems & Thomas Von Party, performing all things psychedelic and eclectic under their wildly popular Multi Culti moniker.

Also on the line up for the third time running will be local heavyweights Sleep D (Live), future jazz outfit Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange and a stack of other local Australian heat. Check the full line-up here.
