The Township Rebellion boys have been turning heads of late with their pure take on prog and techno. Not fussed with playing the media game, you would do well to find an interview with them online as they let their music do the talking. They take their melodic cues from the mid-nineties to mid-00’s progressive era and package it inside a modern-day techno sheen. To simplify it, they make music which will sound tremendous at a bush doof: big melodies, huge kicks and driving bass.
This is precisely what they are offering with their new Balance EP on Stil Vor Talent. It’s a three track EP featuring the sort of gear that should induce hands-up-in-the-air moments alongside sweaty, stomp-the-dust moments.
And it’s just in time too, as the duo will be making their Australian debut next week with shows in Melbourne and Strawberry Fields.
