“Babylon revellers are to be free of everyday pressure, judgement and limitations, surrounded by friends and likeminded travellers, artists and performers, coming together in the beautiful surrounds of the Australian countryside with soft earth under foot and constellations overhead.” This is the experience that the team behind Babylon want you to have at their magical 3 day festival, what more could you ask for!
Babylon is a magical world of music, art and culture that will take over the Victorian countryside at the end of February from Friday 23rd February through to Sunday February 25. The festival is an curation of local and international live and electronic music artists, combining with a unique world of art and cultural exploration.
Earlier this year at the inaugural Babylon 2017, attendees embraced the fresh new world during the three day camping event of music, arts and lifestyle. Festival goers came from across the globe to the beautiful surrounds of Carapooee West in the Northern Grampians Shire.
Babylon 18 will host some of the best artists in the global electronic movement. The list features ax exclusive selection of world renowned musicians and some future legends to keep an eye on as well as an exceptional lineup of techno, psytrance, house and experimental beats.
Here are just some of the highlights you can expect:
Legend and dust merchant Carl Cox returns as partner and curator playing a Burning Man set on the main stage. 2017 attendees will remember Carl’s electric vibes during his set. Without revealing too much, he will be playing a surprise second set during the festival…watch this space.
Babylon is super excited to announce the return of music legend and electronic music icon Laurent Garnier. Gracing us with his presence way back in 2009, Laurent’s welcome return will no doubt be received with great delight.
Agents of Time come back to Aus after some incredible live performances on their last tour at the Tell No Tales shows. The young Italian trio have been touring non-stop since then and making their mark on the global festival circuit.
Babylon also welcomes the Italian virtuoso Deborah De Luca for her debut tour down under, coming all the way from from techno capital of Italy, Naples. Babylon is thrilled to have Deborah on board to bring her fusion of hard techno and minimal sounds to the Elements stage.
Beatport hit machine Enrico Sangiuliano is another one to watch on the techno scene who is joining this year’s festival. Enrico has had the longest running number one techno hit on Beatport and has had 3 number 1 tracks this year alone! Also in the techno realm, Babylon welcomes back favourites, Pan-Pot. The duo’s rich live sets are vocals with a deep understanding of the dancefloor across all environments.
